Frank Rowley

Head Coach

Frank has been involved in martial arts since 1965, when he began training at Sensei Pat Biggy's Judo club in Wigan. In 1979 Frank moved to Bradford and began training in Ju-Jitsu. On moving to Doncaster in 1983 he began training with Yawara Ryu beginning again as a white belt. He achieved the rank of 1st Dan in 1990. Once he had qualified to 2nd Dan Black Belt Frank opened his own clubs.

In 2012 after an extensive selection process including approval of both the junior and senior curriculum, Doncaster Ju Jitsu Club were invited to join the British Ju-Jitsu Association GB, the National Governing Body for Ju-Jitsu in Great Britain.
Frank has qualified as BJJAGB National Governing Body Level 3 Coach, also as a referee and judge. He has officiated at many competitions as a judge and mat referee.
Since joining the BJJA he has officiated at every National competition and at regional competitions. For services and loyalty to the BJJA Frank was awarded 6th Dan.
Frank is an active member of the BJJAGB and continues to attend BJJAGB National Governing Body events and training courses to further his own knowledge and for the development of the Club and its students.
He is also a UKAD Clean Sports Advisor, supporting drug free clean sports for all athletes.

Eddie Rowley

Instructor

Eddie started training aged 6 years with Yawara Ryu under Bob Marshall. In 2019 he was awarded 4th Dan by Prof. Martin Dixon, 9th Dan and Chairman of the BJJAGB. As a junior he competed in both Ju jitsu and karate competitions. As an adult he has officiated at competitions and is our competition Team Coach.
He is a qualified British Ju Jitsu Association Coach, Club competition referee and judge.
